 After a 23 year career with the Farm Credit System, Mike was named President/ CEO of Santa Clara Valley Bank in October of 2001. His farm credit experience was primarily serving farmers of the Central Coast, in capacities ranging from Chief Credit Officer, Director of Marketing, to Director of Internal Audit. Mike achieved Certified Internal Auditor status while at Farm Credit.
Since joining Santa Clara Valley Bank, the Bank has grown from $27 million in assets to over $140 million. The bank has offices in Santa Paula, Fillmore, and Santa Clarita.
Mike holds a Bachelors Degree and MBA in Agribusiness from Santa Clara University. He is also a 1999 Graduate of Pacific Coast Banking School.
He currently serves as Audit Committee Chairman for Calavo Growers, the world’s largest avocado processor and marketer. He is actively involved in several non- profit organizations, including: incoming President of the Boys and Girls Club of the Santa Clara Valley; treasurer of the Santa Paula Art Museum; treasurer of the Landon Pediatric Foundation; Director of the Betty Ferguson Foundation of Santa Clarita, and Director of the UC Hansen Trust. Mike is also an active member of the Santa Paula Rotary Club. Mike has chaired the Boys and Girls Club Golf Tournament 6 years in a row.
Mike is married to Denise, a pediatric RN, and has two adult daughters.
