Janine Jones has been a resident of Santa Clarita Valley since 1972. She received her B.A. from the University of California at Santa Cruz , and continued her graduate work at California State University Northridge. Janine returned to the SCV to teach grammar school in the Sulphur Springs School District. She taught 4th grade until she married her husband of 20 years, Daniel Jones. She later took a position as an Attorney Negotiator at State Farm Insurance Company negotiating cases in binding mediation, arbitrations, and settlement conferences. Janine also worked for FEMA following the 1994 Northridge Earthquake in association with the Child and Family Development Center.
Janine and Danny are currently raising their three children in Valencia. Janine began volunteering for charitable organizations at the age of 15 becoming involved in the Boys and Girls Club auctions as well as other non-profits in town. For the past six years, she has been an active PTA Board Member at Santa Clarita Elementary School running the After School Enrichment Program, as well as, other seasonal events. She served on the Advisory Board of the Santa Clarita Ballet Academy for over ten years, and is a Diabetes Advocate for the American Diabetes Association. She has participated in fund raising, including the annual Santa Clarita Valley “Step Out to Fight Diabetes” walk for the past 8 years, and has assisted her daughters in the ADA’s Call to Congress in Washington, D.C. twice. Janine also takes pride in having participated in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life for the past 10 years and currently serves on the ACS Unit Leadership Council.
Janine is honored to be an active board member of The Betty Ferguson Foundation, and will continue her aid in their tireless effort to raise money and awareness to help train, develop, and empower the women of Santa Clarita Valley.
